Welcome

Welcome to the Captain Cook Hale!  This is a unique and beautiful home located on two secluded acres of coffee and macadamia nut trees overlooking the South Kona Coast, Kealakekua Bay, and Pu’uhonua O Honaunau National Historic Park (Place of Refuge).

My traditional plantation style hale ("hale" means "home" in Hawaiian) is decorated with tropical style furnishings and décor, and includes three bedrooms with queen beds. The main floor has a bathroom and the basement includes a second bath and laundry area.

The living room includes a smart LG TV and Roku with free Amazon Prime video, PBS Passport, and local Hawaiian channels.  To stream other channels, just bring your own passwords.  A dedicated office, wireless printer, and free high-speed Wi-Fi make working remotely a pleasurable option.

The property’s elevation makes for comfortable weather year-round, and the large covered lanai, furnished like additional living and dining rooms, allows you to enjoy the tropical surroundings even when it rains.

In addition to the macadamia and coffee trees, there are avocado, lemon, Philippine lime, mandarin, lychee, jaboticaba, guava, mango, banana, and papaya trees.  There is usually some type of fruit ripe any month of the year.

I look forward to having you as my guest!
